Nestled in the mountains of north-western Colombia, the Paisa people have lived and cultivated their culture and lifestyle for centuries. The word "Paisa" originates from the old Spanish word "paisano," meaning "countryman." Paisa is a greeting from one to another in Latin America. Their communities are situated in the country's coffee-growing heartland. With 30% of Colombian coffee farming in the region, cities like Medellien have been nurtured by the coffee farmers of Colombia.
